Just One Thing (8 November 2015)
It's challenge time!
Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!
Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.
Go!

I am not optimistic. It's November. Work always kicks up some around Thanksgiving and worse when it gets close to Christmas. I fully expect the return of the mandatory overtime. But at least I am fairly confident it won't be this week.

And we have a holiday Wednesday, and I have my wisdom teeth out Thursday and am strictly enjoined against working that day, and a couple of my coworkers are telling me I should definitely "react badly" to the sedation and take Friday off like I told my manager I might have to do depending on how badly I react to the sedation...
(and, like, ethics are a thing? including work ethic? but it is oh so tempting.)
I should point out that I have no problem with working overtime. I like money. It's just working overtime most weekdays and most Saturdays, and with no option to ditch the Saturdays early if I run out of cope or have somewhere to be (which I can do on voluntary overtime Saturdays, because voluntary), that has been getting to me. Overtime's been mandatory at least two Saturdays in three since July.
