Today, I

a) Dropped stuff at the Op Shop

b) was assertive at the Pharmacist about how [chemist] keeps getting less and less wheelchair accessible because they keep cluttering up the aisles and corridors with unnecessary cardboard displays, small end tables, etc etc. They brushed me off, but at least I *tried*.

c) bought groceries

d) cheered myself up about b) with a block of chocolate and a mug of hot chocolate

e) Post Office for mail

f) communicated

g) made TWELVE (12) phone calls to mental-health support agencies trying to get some support around my Anxiety and my SO's Depression. (Gawd, you wouldn't want to have a fear of making phone calls or anything, would you? /snark.)

Each one said "Sorry, can't help you, but call [X agency], they should be able to help"

hence, so many calls.

Unfortunately, my suburb seems to be a bit of a black hole for services - I kept being told I was out of catchment, and that one agency serviced all my surrounding suburbs, but that I was in an excluded "pocket".

One agency proudly told me that they would be rolling out mental health services to my area under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in 2017... well, great, but that's in 2017, and they won't be helping anyone who isn't National Disability Insurance Scheme eligible (formally assessed as having a very severe permanent disability)... and they said they'd help me register for the NDIS, but not until 2017...
