Just One Thing (26 October 2017)

It's challenge time!

Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.

Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!

Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!

Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Go!

I went to a talk that showed just how far our local legal system needs to go to actually support a group of vulnerable people in our community. I am, yet again, so disappointed in our legal system.

Me too. Still knowledge is power, and knowing how far the legal system needs to go is the first step towards improving it, right?

It is depressing. But if we don't know where we're at, we can't move forward. Well done you for going. I'm a firm believer that the things most important in our lives happen at meetings hardly anyone wants to go to. :)

Did some essay preparation. Not enough.

Sent an e-mail complaining that a pdf I need access to has been password-protected when it shouldn't be! Had no response yet. >:(

I took my annoyance out on the inanimate object (gently) rather than rebounding that annoyance on the person generating the issue.

Left the house, despite I DON'T WANNA, nowhere-near-enough sleep, and rainy, windy weather;

Got coffee;

Got to my physiotherapy appointment on time;

Wrote a positive feedback form for the receptionists at the physiotherapist – that [name] and [name] were extremely helpful;

Got a blood test done, despite I DON'T WANNA;

Post office to get my mail and check my partner's post box for him;

Ate some food which contained protein.

Did some of the stuff I wanted to.

Talked with my partner about some of the housework we'd both wanted to do before the other had to. This is the first relationship where I can recall that sort of thing happening: where we love each other with the dishes as well as snuggles. Even though there was some guilty feelings on both sides for having not done it yet.

Got out of the house to see people, even though my partner couldn't be there.

Left at a reasonable hour, and wound up watching some Doctor Who with my partner.

It was. Every day I am reassured that I made a good choice.

Yes. Some of this I thought had been dealt with, but I didn't know that up until recently, one of the necessary services was only provided by religious groups, which means that they could legally discriminate (and did).

This is all true. I'm a bit flaily at the moment, because I have no idea what it is that I could be doing, but it is the area I do some educating in, so at least having more data is useful in countering other people's ignorant comments.
