Just One Thing (31 January 2020)

It's challenge time!

Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.

Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!

Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!

Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Go!

Did some bad singing, badly.

Relatedly, re-started taking some tablets that will hopefully make me less mucusy (the chest specialist agreed that I could stop taking them a while back, but this turns out to have possibly been a mistake, so I’ve started taking them again to see if they help — they’ll take up to four weeks to show an effect though).

Ha, well, I’m generally entirely up for doing things I enjoy but am bad at — but in terms of singing, I think I’m actually pretty decent at it when my pipes aren’t thwarting me. It’s frustrating because my technical/mental ability is way beyond my physical ability right now, but I’m hoping that if I keep up the physical activity at a level that I can manage, I’ll be closer to where I want to be once the meds kick in.

(I had to give it up when all the lung nonsense got bad, and have only recently had enough breath to start again, but it turns out that the minimum amount of medication needed for walking and general activities of daily life is perhaps lower than the minimum amount needed for singing.)

Went to the gym.

Did some more work on my Python game. My sprites are moving, and I've started working on handling mouse clicks.

Worked on my fan project some more.

Picked up pizza for dinner.
