Coming back into town about 10:45, 11:00 at night, I passed a black car with no rear lights and only one headlight on the highway. It seemed really dangerous--I didn't see it until I was right up on it--and I did see people come close to hitting it a couple times once it passed me. I spent the last few years in Ohio, where the Highway Patrol has its own number, but I didn't see any signs like the ones there with their number every so often along the highway. Calling 911 was the only thing I could think of, but I grew up with the idea that you do not waste 911's time for anything less than somebody actively bleeding right in front of you, since there are real emergencies they could be dealing with.

So I spent longer than I maybe should have dithering over whether this was important enough to call about, but I called to tell them about the ninja car anyway. It seemed better to call and at worst have the police waste their time and not find it than to not call and have someone maybe get hurt. The dispatcher I talked to certainly didn't seem to think there was anything wrong with me letting them know about that.
