I used positive coping mechanisms to deal with my case of the fidgets.

(And I got my baby brother's laptop set up with a sensible operating system, finally. And I have applied for housing. FINGERS CROSSED.)

I wrote a long-ish chapter in the fic I can't believe I'm writing.

I took a nap because I needed one, and fought off the feeling guilty about it.

I prepared for class tomorrow (I'm leading my first student discussion sections of the semester), and I've even decided what I'm going to wear.

Now I can proceed into the inevitable panicking-phase secure in the knowledge that I have things to make my students discuss.

Survived the first weeks of school.

Didn't even get mad when my mom commented on my appearance.

Treated myself to a burger.

In an unrelated thing, coped with head-explodingly frustrating bureaucracy without yelling or swearing.

Checking my physical mail has unpleasant associations for me. It's associated with physical pain (the more conveniently located stairs are *stairs*, and the hill is steep), anxiety about what might be contained in the mail, and guilt for not checking it more often.

Tonight I looked at my step count, which was very slightly below my goal, and decided I could rack up a few more steps by just continuing down the hill to check my mail. Which I did.

I talked to my mentor, emailed my colleague, and got myself mentally ready to make a proposal to my boss. I also bit the bullet and paid for Office just so I could prep materials for my class that begins in a week.

I passed the halfway mark on a huuuuuuge and very tedious task at work.

I downloaded a dating app and 'liked' someone. (This is incredibly adventurous stuff for me.)

I finally took some yarn off my spindle, wound it, and set the twist. Oh, and guess how many yards? 121. Woo!

Now I can actually spin some more, because that's my favorite spindle and it's been Too Full To Spin for awhile now.
