Hello, my name is
randomling, and I'll be your host. Welcome to
awesomeers!
My idea for this community is to create a space where we can own our awesome and support each other in doing so. It would be cool if we could find ways to gamify the process, to make it more fun and attractive for people to join in, so I'm looking around for ways to do that. (Preferably ones that don't involve points/scoreboards/us comparing ourselves to one another, which seems counterproductive.)
One thing I'll definitely be doing is linking to
synecdochic's Pride Thread every Monday - a great tool for beating impostor syndrome and acknowledging things you've done, from "survived the week without murdering anyone" all the way up to "completed my PhD!". Highly recommended for all Awesomeers.
Two things I'd love from anyone reading this post:
1. Drop in and introduce yourself in the comments! I'd love to say hello.
2. Let other people know about the comm! I'll be promoting it on my own journal and
dw_community_promo, but if you think it sounds cool, or you know other people who might find it useful, it'd be excellent if you could share our existence. The more people we have, the stronger we'll be!
I'll be back tomorrow, maybe armed with some links about self-esteem.
