I ended up winning a couple games of Catan.

I finally got someone to teach me that two weeks ago! I am enjoying it quite a bit. Congrats on winning!

Hooray! I was playing the Star Trek variation, which has power cards that you can use that really change the game and make certain turns less painful. I was able to use those much more effectively.

There is. Star Trek Catan was a gift to Significant Other, and so we got to play it when a friend who lives such games stopped by.
