Went on a walk with my tutor again, and picked up a loaf of bread from a nearby bakery. Had the beginning of a rather important discussion.





Talked with a couple neighbors and another friend on the phone.

I led what I was very nervous was going to be a contentious discussion on why and how we should replace gendered language in aerospace/space (i.e. "manned" with "crewed"). I was supported wonderfully by my co-lecturer, who has repeatedly and voluntarily self-described as a privileged white man during class, and by my teaching assistant, who is Greek and expressed her frustration with her own language for not having a commonly used ungendered substitute for "manned". It seems to have been received positively by the students.
