Slept enough last night to not yawn through this morning. (See: schedule fuckery.)

I read half a book. I got myself unstuck on the new coding language lessons I am working through, and I asked people to help with a thing I was stuck on and then didn't delete my forum post, I edited it to include the fix. I did deliberate self-care, including spending four hours eating and talking with a friend, and tomorrow I will phone my GP surgery and make an appointment to discuss increasing my anti-depressant again, and also to discuss what to do when it gets to Northern Hemisphere winter and I will be worse again and will need stronger drugs while already maxed out on the current AD.

I am aware that this might mean switching ADs at this point, and I know that won't be much fun, but I also know I can do it.

(I know this is more than one thing, and I feel bad about that, like I'm trying to be a show-off overachiever - this is something I want to talk about more if we have a post about talking about impostor syndrome wrt this comm - but actually I deserve this, I deserve to acknowledge all this and to do it publicly and to say and that was not all... -- so: thank you.)

I figured out exactly why a storyline that I was kinda cagey about following needs to happen and it made me feel better about writing it. It's going to be a difficult one to do properly, but I can do it.

Also did self-care last night even though I wasn't really in the mood to do so.

And I called my boss when I was going to be late, even though she didn't care.

I figured out with help how to remote into the work desktop so that I didn't have to go out in the heat! It was SO COOL. And nobody though I was ridiculous for not knowing how to do it with a Mac laptop to a Windows machine!

I stopped saying "oh it's just a cold" or "oh it's just my allergies" and made a doctor's appointment for Friday (when I have time easily in my schedule). Maybe it IS just a cold. But I'd rather not leave it unchecked if it's now also a sinus infection or ear infection, and symptoms of both have been present.

I more or less hung it together today in the face of family-related and article-deadline-related stress. The article isn't going to be done by the deadline and the family stress isn't going away, but I did extract myself from what promised to be a long and painful trip out of town to run errands with my mom and sister this afternoon. I was supposed to go with them to pick up some library books, but instead I called the library, and I've now arranged to have the books held until Friday. Yay!

I answered an email that should have been answered weeks ago. Not answering earlier resulted in the other person sending another email to see if I'd gotten the previous one. I AM A HORRIBLE PERSON. So I finally answered. [facepalm]

(Hmm, I wonder if my library would hold things longer if I called and asked them. I've pretty much given up doing holds at this point because there's only a couple of days when library hours play nicely with my hours, and they only hold books for 3 days...)

I do the same thing, of course - the feeling a little bad about putting more than one things sometimes - but sometimes there is more than one thing, and sometimes the fact that I accomplished this thing AND ALSO this other thing is practically its own thing-to-acknowledge.)
