It's challenge time!

Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.

Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished! Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!

Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Go!

Ridiculous thing

I started journaling again. Writing is easy. Journaling is relatively useful and easy... unless I miss a day. Which turns into weeks or even months, because the irrational stress of trying to pick up again is just ridiculous. Yeah, sometimes, my brain is NOT my friend.

But there are actual personal words on paper again!

It helps tremendously. If I can just get past the massive "should" that kicks in if I miss ay day, it'll be much easier, especially in the long term.

Hmm ... have you tried setting a goal of "journal 5 days/week" instead of trying for every day? Sometimes that helps.

If I skip a day, the problem of getting back to it kicks in and turns one day to four to fifteen. I haven't figured out how to deal with that yet... and it's been decades.

Done!

Today we hooked up the new hose, which is the flat tape kind. It is super light and completely flexible. But the "non-kinking" feature is a total lie; it is the most kink-prone hose I have ever used. Getting it to straighten out and dispense water was like wrestling Jormungandr. However, the multifunction nozzle is the best one I've ever used. It has like 10 settings, of which I favor shower and flat.

Anyhow, the septic garden, new picnic table garden, old picnic table garden, patio plants, and a few things around the house yard have all been thoroughly watered. I hope that I soak the hell out of things, I'll only have to wrestle the hose once or twice a week, instead of hauling the watering can every day. I'll still have to hand-water things north of the driveway, but that is a lot less.

I played grunt labor to try and both keep a coworker from lofting more than they are authorized for and to try and work through a backlog because we are understaffed.
