I'm still waiting for an answer but the worst case scenario isn't that bad and the best case scenario is pretty good, so…

Clerked for the primary elections in my little Massachusetts city, from 5:45AM to 8:45PM. Turnout was low in our precinct - 194 (IIRC) out of ~2200 voters.

Tested some solutions to vexatious problems, had to refine an assumption, but it worked. The solution turns out to have been far easier than I was making it out to be.
