Attended a Useful Meeting. Also dealt with phone calls.

I called my grandparents to make arrangements for my sister and I to visit them next week, which counts and both phoning AND making travel plans!

I also read and took notes on various articles and am now translating a (difficult because ugh, the dubious Latin) thing for the chapter I'm now working on.

... I guess I was actually fairly productive today. And the evening is still young!

yeah. It wasn't exactly optional either -- I was headed out Saturday to get some more fruit, and suddenly Bad Things happened on the freeway going uphill. Fortunately I was less than a mile from my mechanic, so that's where I limped him.

Some of it can go on the chain's credit card, thank fuck. The rest -- well, I won't have to refuel until Friday! And I have plenty of food in the pantry.

Woke up much earlier than I was used to in order to clean before building maintenance came in. Then managed to do things (e.g. phone Official People, write things, be all editorial) instead of just lumping around in a pile of annoyed and fatigued all day.

Told the podiatrist i wasn't going to do daily stretching any more (contraindicated because of my hypermobility, which doesn't stop all manner of healthcare providers prescribing it to me!)

This was suggested to me for plantar fasciitis and it made it worse. I stopped doing it, and several months later my feet no longer hurt! \o/

Went to my building manager to get another key to the pool in my apartment complex, because I tried the one she gave me for the first time and it didn't work. She just gave me another key and didn't ask me to demonstrate that it didn't work, and the new key worked!

Dealt with an unbelievably mad customer and went above and beyond to make him happy. He called me back after the fact to thank me.

And I consider it a great personal accomplishment that I didn't call this other customer a dumb ass to his face because he made a huge mistake and it cost him about $300 which isn't our fault at all.

Went to the doctor. Again. For a same-day appointment about something I didn't want to go about. Scheduled a test. Again. For the same day as another test. Again.

Got a very small ball rolling very slowly on an ongoing project.

Made a really nice dinner yesterday.

Have only put five books into my suitcase for my trip to my parents', and am not even really tempted to add to it. (Normally I would take at least fifteen.)

(I have a similar problem when packing. I don't think I've managed to ever pack just five.)

I think five books is probably my record for a two week visit. I know I have my ereaders, but that's different.

Well, actually, I know when I went to France with school, my mother only let me take two books. I read them over and over again. I'll never do that again.
