I did the math for moving out, into an apartment complex that has a requirement of gross pay being 3X rent and that offers a 5% discount on rent for state employees. If I can either count my 5% shift differential (a benefit of working any shift but day shift) as part of my gross pay or divide my annual gross pay by 12 and compare that to monthly rent instead of comparing my two-paychecks gross pay to monthly rent (because I get paid 26 paychecks a year), the math on that point works. \o/
