Oct. 1st, 2015 08:38 amIt's challenge time!
Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!
Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Date: 2015-10-01 10:24 pm (UTC)I called a number that the website said was "airport paging," thinking that it was someone who could call her to the phone or at least page her to come meet me at security or something. They turned out to be some department at the Visitor Center (which is half an hour from the airport, IDEK). They had a lot of trouble even taking her name, which is a slight variant of a fairly common, simple name. Then they were just like "wellp, we'll see what we can do" without even asking for my number or my name or anything.
So I figured that I could keep waiting for them to call back and tell me where to bring the phone and she'd probably get on the plane without it, since her flight left in forty minutes. Or I could just go back down there--it's maybe ten or fifteen minutes from me and it's by a coffee place I've been wanting to try; it's not like it's out of my way--and maybe miss her, but at least I'd have tried.
After I went to her airline's desk and asked if there was anything they could do and showed them my license (because look, this is how you spell that name), they offered me a gate pass since I knew who I was looking for, it'd be fastest if I just went up to the gate myself and gave it to her.
Got through security with four minutes and a good quarter mile left to go and caught her literally as she was getting onto the plane with one more person left behind her. And was probably fairly lucky not to get jumped by the TSA when I barged up to the desk all MOM MOM MOM WAIT JUST A MINUTE WAIT LOOK MOM PHONE!
And there's been Drama about whether or not I can fly to Chicago later in the month because of health problems from last year, but shit, at least I know I can sprint if I get there.
