Did more laundry and dishes and cooking. Even though I'm still sick and exhausted.

I'm sitting with a whisky and just finished watching Doctor Who, I think that's pretty restful. :)

Single-parented (Day 0.5 of 4.5). Both children went to bed fed and happy so I'm counting that as a win.

Collapsing into a torpor with the most recent episode of "Simply Nigella" is imminent.

Go you! All the sympathy from here - have just spent the week single parenting, and fed plus 'did we make all today's appointments/training/rehearsals' was the survival criterion. And then we just skipped training on Friday, because everyone was too tired.

*fist-bump of single-parenting-survival solidarity* I always have good intentions about cooking fresh suppers every night. On the third or fourth evening we have beans & cheese on toast. By the fourth or fifth we are in "emergency frozen pizza in front of the television" territory.

I hear you on the meals. When the kids get older, it is so much more manageable, but little ones hit 'feed me now' so hard and fast.

Yes. I have to do most of the meal prep before I pick them up and I also prepare a snack for them to munch on while I'm cooking. Nothing fancy, just some grapes, cucumber batons or biscuits/rice cakes. But it keeps them from going nuclear before the main meal!

Middle child got to dress rehearsal with all the costumes sewn together, and labeled. And then we went to see the show, which was fabulous.

Amazing! Glad it all came together so well in the end.

I spent the day not thinking about work, which is good, because there's a lot of potential anxiety there.
