Just One Thing (7 August 2016)
Aug. 7th, 2016 05:37 pmIt's challenge time!
Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!
Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.
Go!

Date: 2016-08-07 04:48 pm (UTC)Well, the laundry and dishes, at least. idk what you were up to politics-wise, I assume good stuff, but sometimes it's just like wading into a sewer, you know? :( I hope you made a positive difference! :)

Date: 2016-08-07 04:51 pm (UTC)Told irate/hostile behind-my-house neighbor that no, her cat *definitely* wasn't in my backyard (myself and my SO both checked the backyard when she knocked on my front door and asked), and no, I wasn't letting her through my front door and then into my backyard to look.
(The neighbour in question has regular shouting/screaming coming from her house as well as punching/slapping sounds, and she sounded really irate/aggressive, no way in hell was I letting her in my house. The only way to access my backyard is through my front doors and then the whole rest of the house.)

Date: 2016-08-07 05:24 pm (UTC)Accidentally implied to a dear friend that I was angry with them when I wasn't. Talked about how to handle it if we were actually angry with each other. (It was hard, but worth it.)

Date: 2016-08-07 08:11 pm (UTC)Today's thing (well yesterday) - I ran a workshop for Bi Carers at BiCon (http://2016.bicon.org.uk). It was a smaller group than last year and we talked about Hard Stuff - feeling lonely and overwhelmed and unheard. Sometimes there were long silences and I had to resist the urge to fill the gap with chattering or platitudes. We couldn't fix stuff - just offer understanding and solidarity, which was also hard - I wish I could fix stuff for people dammit! But I think it was useful and I am proud that I could make that space happen.
