I'm making progress at writing the presentation about my research that I'm giving to my department tomorrow, and I've decided to move forward on applying for the Nerdiest Fellowship Ever and sent an email to the coordinator to arrange to attend an information session about my application.

This started on Saturday, but it finished today, so: we have a working furnace again, and I dealt with the contractors and the whole situation like a grownup, more or less.

I made Christmas Cake using a recipe my gran gave me over the phone that included ingredients and cooking time in gas oven numbers (note that I do not have a gas oven, and never have). It smells and looks right. I am hoping it comes out right. We'll know for sure after it's cured in likker for a month...
