Just One Thing (28 February 2017)
Feb. 28th, 2017 10:11 amIt's challenge time!
Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!
Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.
Go!

Date: 2017-03-01 03:46 am (UTC)Spoke up for a student to encourage adults to include working with her on boundaries so that she understands that she doesn't have to let people bother her or get in her space. Made plans to work with another student on the same thing, but with a focus on respecting others' space. Repeatedly modeled asking before giving/getting a handshake or hug, and respecting the answer received, yes or no. Focused on the positives as often as I could. Pushed for students to be trying their best, and encouraged them to make choices that worked for them. Cleaned up and left things organized, because I can.
Let myself cry later, in a safe place - my car, with doors shut and music playing. Renewed my determination to do what I can and to try not to imagine I can do what I can't.
Got home safe (for a given value of safe which, today, includes very very tired).
