It's challenge time!

Monday

Got up in a timely manner, finished packing and had breakfast, and said goodbye-for-now to someone who may well be -- well, someone very important.

Everyone got to the airport and to work on time, even a bit early.

Was prepared for the possibility that they'd ask for bags to be gate-checked. Had my carry-on bag ready for this eventuality. Dealt with a 45 minute delay (due to fog) with general calmness.

Put up with the flight.

Put up with the delay in being reunited with my baggage.

Didn't share too much personal information with my aunt.

Went to dinner as scheduled, so as to not be too alone on my first night away from my primary partner.

Got home and in bed safely, with speakerphone standing in for the physical presence we might have preferred.

Tuesday

Dog-sat for my aunt. Got there on time.

Got a talk accepted at a conference!!!!!!

Went to the dentist. Got there on time, despite having forgotten my wallet during the previous adventures.

Expressed my general unhappiness at the chain of communication where the dentist was asking me why I was there, for a scheduled thing that I didn't actually know what was. (There are a lot of things going on in my mouth. Few of them are good. I am not accepting helpful advice at this time.) Asked about two very specific items. Received a referral for one, and information about the second (I do, in fact, have an appointment scheduled for the second). With the referral, the front desk told me that I would have to call and make an appointment; I could do that immediately and they might be able to see me today!

Sat in the dentist's courtyard with an anxiety attack and called the other dentist anyway. Received an appointment for fuck o'clock tomorrow morning. Called *back* when I realized that I had not gotten information on a related thing. Got that information too.

Ran errands.

Got home. Yay home. Called my partner. Yay partner. Got food. Yay food.

Did my best to be there for my partner for something that was unexpectedly difficult.

Did some heavy housework chores with partner, including clearing the back garden of overgrowth and weeds so we can put in a play den for the children.

Made a headologist appointment, and accepted a new reality and procured space for that new reality.
