I achieved an expedition to IKEA where we not only bought everything on our shopping list, but only bought a single extra item (which would have been on the list if I had know that was where we got the first one). I'm only kicking myself a little for not giving in on the second impulse purchase, because dammit, I think it would have been a good way to experiment with 'would this get use, should we have five of them'.

And then after a rather long period of recovery, painkillers, and a back massage, we assembled everything!

That's amazing! I find Ikea so exhausting, and building flat-pack even more so. Well done. :)

Eldest and I have got quite good at navigating IKEA, going in with a shopping list, and getting out fast. I was feeling pretty smug about the assembly though, because usually it takes me a week to get to even thinking about it. I do love assembling flat pack furniture though, which helps.

I finished a major writing piece and sent it in to the collection. Yay for not having to default.

Snow day! Survived a lengthy power outage with the help of a propane stove and a fire. And snowball fights, snowman construction and a walk on the towpath.

Aw, I am fondly remembering all the times this happened when I was a kid. It's probably much less fun as an adult. :)
