I got up and did the chores I was intending to do, after I took a nap.

Drove the new car on the school run. Felt anxiety over it diminishing with practice.

I walked away when I realized that my attempt to inform a coworker about something that would be their responsibility was met with excuses and stonewalling.

*That* co-worker? Oh dear.

Unsurprisingly, I ended up having to finish the thing for them in the morning, because the people who were trying to take care of it didn't end up getting it done quite right through no fault of their own.

Oh, all the sympathies. My email to equivalent co-worker was met by 'oh, but I don't have permission to do that'

Ugh. Sometimes they can put you very off-kilter because they are the right person for it, but they don't want to do work.

In this case, I was asking them to fix the thing that they had created wrong. But I have a long running problem with this co-worker, and I'm not the only one. I'd have more sympathy if they were competent.

Understandably. One can hope that enough accounts of their incompetence will remove them from your space.

I wish. Permanent government employee. My contract will run out first.

(they are a known problem. They ask for more complicated work, but won't in good faith actually do the work they are asked to do to prove that they will actually deliver on the more complicated work)
