Invited schoolfriend of Eldest, plus younger brother the same age as Youngest, over for morning playdate. Quickly realised that her mum was feeling a bit lonely (husband away for the whole weekend) and asked them to stay for lunch. They stayed the whole day and everyone had a grand time.

What a delight, when the parent of a friend of the kids is fun to spend time with. And excellent hospitality!

Decided that since I had been wibbling about beef stew every time I saw stew meat, I should just go ahead and make it.

Explained my usual reaction to humidity in excess of 60% to my partner, who should know these things. (Anxiety attacks, usually.)

Did the stew-related shopping without any anxiety attacks, despite the humidity.

Not only made the stew (with excellent help from my partner) but also made a meal which was ready to eat at dinner time.

Made a joke with my partner about sandwiches on Mother's Day that absolutely cracked them up.
