This week's goals (6th January)
Jan. 6th, 2014 12:06 pmHi, I am
alexseanchai, and apparently I am your first guest host! I'll be doing the familiar weekly goal posts and daily accomplishment posts, with a little twist to the goal-setting post:
It's challenge time!
Comment with a goal you have for the coming week. Break it down, if you are willing and able, into daily or twenty-minutes-on-ten-minutes-off increments. For an example, see the first comment.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you feel like it.
Extra credit: find someone in the comments and cheer them on, find out more, or ask if they'd like some help or support.
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange, or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.
Go!

Date: 2014-01-06 05:19 pm (UTC)Goal: Finish chapter of Leah Far-Sighted. 20/10 increment: Chapter five document open and fingers moving on the fucking keyboard for twenty minutes. Daily goal: five hundred words per day.
Goal: Don't fuck up winter term in the first week. Monday: Read chapter one of Understanding Grammar and as much of Normal Lives as can be managed before work time. Tuesday: Watch Screaming Queens, read chapter one of music textbook (if it's here which it better be since Amazon claims it's out for delivery now), compose and post discussion posts due Wednesday. Wednesday: poetry lesson two, post journal poem one if that hasn't been done already. Rest of week: reply to discussion posts, faff about on Internet.

Date: 2014-01-06 06:25 pm (UTC)One Just One Thing post posted.
Zero words on Leah but that doesn't rule out sneaking writing time at work.
Read the chapter of the grammar text (which is actually entitled Understanding English Grammar. Not opened Normal Lives but it's coming with me to work for lunch break.

Date: 2014-01-06 05:29 pm (UTC)Okay, so...
Goal: Don't fuck up this job interview on Wednesday.
20/10 increments: Make interview prep list, spend 20 mins working through items on list. (Items on list include: planning journey, researching the organisation, figuring out what answers to prepare, preparing answers, printing everything, preparing my outfit.)
Goal: 1000 words on Voicemail from God.
20/10 increments: Write words down for 20 minutes. (Find people to ww with for extra motivation?) Basically stealing this from
Goal: Visit the gym three times. Walk at least 1km (or at least 30 minutes of wandering about on my feet) on each non-gym day. Log exercise on Fitocracy.
Daily goal: Leave house for purposes of gym or walking each day. Maybe find some methods to make executive function easier?
Goal: Get some maths done.
Daily goal: Do a level of maths (at Khan Academy) plus a mastery challenge each day.
WHEW I think that's enough for now.

Date: 2014-01-06 05:33 pm (UTC)Good luck with the interview! And the story, and the gym, and the maths, but somehow I suspect the interview is looming largest on your mind at the moment.

Date: 2014-01-06 05:35 pm (UTC)Breakdown Don't overexert myself this week. I have to go out on Tuesday and Saturday. That means, if Morgan does not come over, then I should not really do much socializing beyond that.
Goal: Get 3500 words done this week
Breakdown about 500 words a day should cover me. I can earn those 500 words by either working on the mad scientist story, the Rose Red and Snow White story or other prompt fills.
Goal: Get laundry put away.
Breakdown: Do 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. I should be able to cover it and not strain my back too much if I do that.
Goal: exercise for 15 minutes 3x s week
Breakdown: Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday because I am doing laundry today and the sorting and such will...not qualify exactly but tire me out enough that I have to not push myself too much.
