My mom and I made financiers for the first time to use up some almond meal we had left after Christmas. We also made a Sicilian pizza from scratch, which didn't end up being to my tastes but everyone else seems to like it.

I made two types of scones: chocolate chip, and candied ginger.

Thank you! They're the perfect balance of tasty and easy for me. I use this recipe as a base (skipping the fresh ginger, which never tastes good baked to me) and divide the dough for multiple flavors.

I cooked dinner even though I really didn't want to. It ended up being a vegetable and bacon hash, and it was tasty!
