After feeding and getting children to school, meeting at the house with builder and another person. Quite a lot of phone calls related to building work to a variety of people and organisations. Our chances of starting on Monday with full demolition work are about 50/50 right now.

Caught up on all the work I missed yesterday due to being on annual leave, which required soothing a lot of academics who were in danger of panic spirals because I wasn't available for an entire 24 hours.

Reviewed a gazillion documents.

Did evening routine (collect kids, dinner, bath, dishes, etc).

Continued utility room clearance.

Very large cup of herb tea and curling up on sofa with cat: imminent.

Survived the gym this morning. It was not my best day there, but hey, I went!

Made progress on the Space Invaders clone I'm building in Python to test my programming skills:
* Spaceship responds to key presses of the left/right cursor keys
* Spaceship automatically reverses direction when it hits the edge of the screen
* Spaceship fires laser bolts when spacebar is pressed
* Laser bolts are killed when they move off screen

Finally, did a web search for a problem in another Python program I'm going to do, and found a neat solution! I'm eager to try it out, but the computer with Python on it is in the darkened kitchen, so it will have to wait until tomorrow.

Had yet another great workout at the local YMCA with one of my tutors. Hung out w/neighbor friend across the hall again.





Attended a dinner along with 2 neighbors, that was put on by a bookstore within walking distance. It is a cooking club, and both neighbors brought things which they cooked and were quite tasty. This is a monthly event, and I'm thinking I might like to attend again but will discuss with my tutors. One of said neighbor friends and I discussed it a bit last night when we returned from the event. If it means just getting out more and meeting new people I'm game. Last evening's event yielded both those results.
