It's challenge time!

Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.

Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!

Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!

Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Go!

Did some work on the new shirt I’m making for [personal profile] bob. Also pondered ways of making the process more efficient next time.

Making a shirt has so many steps! My strategy at the moment is cutting down the number of times I have to swap between sewing and ironing.

Got out of bed when my alarm went off;

Brought a large parcel inside and unwrapped it;

Moved some of the rubbish off my bedroom floor;

Sent a customer complaint email saying "the item you posted me reeks of cigarette smoke, how do we arrange a replacement";

Called an insurance company and updated my credit card details for building insurance; contents insurance; and wheelchair-roadside-assistance, also checked how many days my house can be vacant before it nullifies the insurance coverage;

Internet banking;

Provided emotional support to my partner;

Unwrapped a home-delivery from the chemist and put the packaging straight into the outside recycling bin;

Opened two cardboard-box parcels and put the packaging straight into the outside recycling bin;

Found a texta and wrote CLEAN on the brand-new pair of scissors so I know which pair of scissors is clean;

Despite abdominal cramps which made bending and walking painful, brought home-delivered groceries inside and packed them away in the freezer AND put the foam esky they came in straight into the outside rubbish bin.

That’s a lot of stuff!

Also, you taught a non-Australian (me) two new Australian-English words (“texta” and “esky”).

^_^

Are you in the US/Canada/UK?

What do you call textas - markers?

and eskies - coolers?

Also, what Americans call a swimsuit is called
bathers;
togs;
or cossie [short for costume]
in Australia [it varies from state to state...]

in my state it's "bathers"

I’m in the UK — grew up speaking Welsh English but have now been living in England for a quarter of a century. Yes, eskies are coolers in my dialect! And textas are felt-tips or sharpies, depending on how permanent they're meant to be (sharpies are permanenter).

Ran into the grocery to see if a couple of things came in (the answer to that was no), wiped down the dining room and living room, made an online order, put out my Mom's meds and gave the dog his pill.

Took a nice walk with one of my tutors. We ended up meeting up with 2 friends and talked with them a bit. Then came back to my parents' place for lunch.

Talked on the phone with a couple neighbors.

Refueled car, went to medical appointment, did post-appointment labs, and picked up a sack of clothing in my approximate size.

Then retrieved dinner for the household, and shared useful information with my partner (there is a Sonic within 5 miles of the household).

Got to watch and participate in the first official day of doing curbside services, but we haven't fully stress-tested our system yet.
