I made a delicious dinner of partly home-made, partly bought mezze: deep-fried cauliflower with tahini sauce, ready-made beetroot salad, mixed olives, wholemeal pittas, chorizo, marinated feta, pickled cherries, pickled mushrooms, and little gem leaves.

I was quite impressed with what came out of my “use up some of the tahini” goal :D

(I’m trying to simplify my pantry a bit. I used to keep things on hand that only got used four or five times a year, since I liked having the flexibility, but I decided I like having the extra space more. So tahini, tamarind paste, cashew butter, and various other items are now on the list of things that are bought when needed and then deliberately used up sharpish.)

Got out of bed when my alarm went off;

got some of the recycling out of the ensuite spa and got it ready to go into the outside recycling bin when the weather improves;

four phone calls re organising a bulk bin for garden waste;

ordered groceries for home-delivery online;

messaged my Buy Nothing group moderator when someone behaved badly [it's against the rules to turn up at someone's house and bang on their door angrily when you haven't previously mutually agreed a collection time. We had mutually agreed a time on Sunday, they missed it, and then they randomly showed up on Thursday afternoon...]

soothed myself down from an anxiety attack;

took several bags of rubbish to the outside rubbish bins.

Four phone calls! My goodness.

Yeah, they gave me a massive several-hour Anxiety attack during which I was too anxious to do anything whatsoever...

I have blocked them on Facebook now, so they won't be able to put their hand up for stuff that I am giving away on Buy Nothing again.

[My PTSD was triggered by the loud angry banging plus also I am not answering the door to anyone at all at the moment because COVID...]

Managed not to beat myself up too much for only getting about a quarter of the things done that I wanted to today.

Oof. Well done for avoiding too much self-flagellation. A quarter is better than none.

Had a fairly quiet day, brought down by the heat.

Did a little tidying/prep work downstairs, and made a mask.

I also suffered from the heat yesterday — much sympathy. Quiet days are needed sometimes.
