 It's challenge time!

Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.

Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished!

Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!

Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Go!

Remember, remember, the 5th of ... October?

(I keep losing months too.)

Sometimes that’s all one can do. Well done for doing it!

I walked to get breakfast this morning.

I am knitting on J's sock. I am working on the toe decreases.

I reviewed emails & job apps. Got a denial email today. I do have a meeting tomorrow about an at home position. Hopefully it goes well.

Yay knitting! I’d love to see a photo if possible. Hope the meeting went well.

Ooh, thanks, that looks good. I like the reverse-stockinette panel, and the stretchy cast-on at the cuff looks very comfortable.

Ah, I see! Did I get confused about what direction you were knitting it in, or did you cast on at the cuff with waste yarn and then bind off afterwards?

It was a cuff-down sock but when my partner tried it on the cuff was way too tight. I ripped it out & then redid it as a bind off so it would fit better. And it does, so I'm happy about it.

That makes sense. I do almost all my ā€œcast-onsā€ as cast-offs — I find it so much easier to get the tension right.

Do you use provisional cast ons to start or something else?

I use COWYAK, i.e. ā€œcast on with waste yarn and knitā€.

When I’m casting off ribbing, I usually use the tubular cast off.

Hung out w/neighbor again from across the hall. I've been thinking a lot lately about the situation in which we find ourselves. It's not that we want our friendship to end. Not like that at all. I'm thinking that others around here might be a bit concerned that the 2 of us want our friendship to end. So I believe I will use a slightly different tactic. That is, I will generalize the situation, so that I'm not referring to him specifically when talking to others about it. I understand where my support team is coming from, i.e., that these sort of things need to be kept confidential. But on the other hand, I still have some questions. I care about said neighbor, and I think he really needs more help that is simply not being provided. I know the underlying reason for this, and I really wish I could change it for the better. But I cannot, and that's what is really bothering me right now. Furthermore, neither can others.

But I did manage to get out w/my tutor for a spin around the block.

I don’t really understand what’s going on here, but it sounds tough to deal with, and I hope it turns out well.

I did a successful work from home day, even if the virtual summit I watched didn't have a whole lot of new and useful information for me.

Helped in the process of cleaning the stove.

Wrote, even though I wasn't feeling it at first.
