Just One Thing (27 November 2020)
Nov. 27th, 2020 07:03 am It's challenge time!
Comment with Just One Thing you've accomplished in the last 24 hours or so. It doesn't have to be a hard thing, or even a thing that you think is particularly awesome. Just a thing that you did.
Feel free to share more than one thing if you're feeling particularly accomplished! Extra credit: find someone in the comments and give them props for what they achieved!
Nothing is too big, too small, too strange or too cryptic. And in case you'd rather do this in private, anonymous comments are screened. I will only unscreen if you ask me to.

Date: 2020-11-28 12:49 pm (UTC)Thanks to Past Me and my partner, it was easy: Past Me asked my partner to sort The Bird into meat and scraps, and to put the bones, drippings, and other scraps into the Instant Pot pan. I have a silicone lid for that pan, so it doubles as a refrigerator container. We also stuffed in the leftover mirepoix and some bay leaves. So all Present Me had to do was produce and unlid the inner pot, put it into the outer pot, pressure cook it, fish out and discard the solids (where nosy little cats couldn't get them because onions and cooked poultry bones).
Separating the fat and the stock was an entire different challenge, because while I have a separator it was not thoughtfully designed and therefore prone to dribbling grease on things.
(We will probably roast potatoes in the grease that I did save.)

Date: 2020-11-28 08:41 pm (UTC)Spent most of the day packing my bags in preparation for moving back into my apartment. Had Thanksgiving leftovers for supper, watched some TV, and then my mom brought me back here to my apartment. The very first thing I did when I got in was went into the bathroom and checked my shaver. I was afraid I had left it plugged in throughout the 2 weeks or so that I was out of the apartment. Sure enough, this was the case so I unplugged it straightaway. The good news here is that it still works like a charm.
