Used the ancient iPad on which I installed a Zoom to get our shining faces into the holiday video conference, as well as the wide angle webcam on the main computer (upon which we do not install spyware). Established that the microphone device and the speaker device must be the same one, unless using headphones.

Had a lovely time at the present-opening ceremony. (No order of precedence, just show the camera what you got when you open it.)

Figured out my new toy.

Got some Duolingo time in.

Hauled things out of the car so the car would be ready in case of Craigslist or other errands.

Treated my lungs gently when they protested the hauling.

Joined the holiday haul call and got to see things go well with others.

Spent a lovely part of the day getting new technology set up properly to work and demonstrating that it will work for the idea that I am putting it to.

Had an awesome if rather exhausting day. Lots of good food and some nice wine were involved.

Christmas w/the fam was wonderful as it always has been. My niece and nephew were in town with their parents, and are doing great. We waited to open gifts until they got there. I got some nice stuff, everything I wanted plus more. My mom cooked supper, and my oldest sister made the desserts. We each had masks on when not dining, and nobody was sick.





FaceTimed briefly w/a downstairs neighbor. Two other neighbors were invited onto the call but never responded.
