Came in to work super-early so I can leave London in time to travel home with bloke and toddler.

Also, today I am designing spacecraft rolls that will take place in 2015. Just reminding myself that my job is pretty cool sometimes.

Proofread a journal article for a friend. She thinks I'm being helpful but I just find proofreading really fun and her writing's always interesting, so everybody wins.

Make my first meal in a slow cooker.

I can sincerely say that receiving a slow cooker as a present last year changed my life for the better. Chop things up, stuff in pot, leave for the day & return to find dinner for the next three nights? Yes please, more like this.

...that reminds me: now that it's getting colder I should see what I did with my slow cooker (I don't remember seeing it since we moved in March! because I mostly use it in the winter). It is amazing.

Prepared for and led three discussion sections for the course I'm TAing, and packed for my trip today, and got a little dissertation work done.

Finally wrote an entry that's been bouncing around in my head for a few days.

I applied for a job I don't think I'll get. I'm not going to get it because I waited a week to apply for it, but it's better than nothing.

I booked a room in Chicago because I wanted to instead of talking myself out of it. I thiiink I've mostly worked out how Chicago public transportation works, at least enough to get where I want to go.

Had to take part in a sales pitch thingy. I wasn't the one speaking. We did okay, yay!

Passed 1k on a fic and 67k on the currnet novel.
