I took out the recyclables that have been in my kitchen for six months.

Went out to breakfast.

Helped a friend assemble my new Ikea table, and provided tea and snacks and chat like a good host.

i wrote postcards to 4 strangers.

Harvested our chillis (toddler enjoyed this). Made chilli and put one of them in it. Made chilli sauce out of the rest, minus twenty or so, which are now in the freezer.

I picked up my rental car and spent the day daytripping to the Cahokia Mounds historic site in Illinois near St. Louis, Missouri, then drove into St. Louis, where I had never been before, and attended one of my good college friends' wedding, which featured a lot of people I was friends with in college, but haven't been in touch much with since. But I embraced the potential awkwardness and had a great time. It was excellent to catch up with people, and to be reminded that I went to college with some awesome people! Now I have to work on keeping in better touch with some of them.

Did some washing up that's been hanging around for a couple of weeks now (but it was wine glasses that were empty so not actually gross...?)

I have written over 1000 words today, while rewriting a short story.
