We replaced our mattress! We've been sleeping on the old one for some 12-13 years and I had it under strong suspicion of being a root cause of some lower back issues I've been having for a couple of weeks. But now we have a new one, and tonight I fully expect to sleep like a log!

That's a big expense and a big hassle, I'm proud of you for getting it worked out. I hope the new mattress helps your back issues the way you think it could.

Yesterday, for dinner, I semi-successfully baked a potato. It was still mostly edible when it emerged from the oven. Only a little bit burnt.

Moral of the story: intervals of thirty-five minutes are too long for checking a small russet at 400F. Try twenty minutes. Maybe fifteen.

Oven-baked potatoes are SO MUCH BETTER than nuking them in the microwave, even if they require more time and planning!

Yay! Agreed with the above commentor - baked potatoes are delicious!

If you've a chance, those little baby potatoes make a very good roast when cut in halves or quarters and tossed on a baking tray with some olive oil, salt, and herbs.

I am 2/3 of the way through ripping out all the dead or overgrown plants from the strip of dirt right next to my fence in my patio. Someone is going to come paint the fence in the next few weeks, so I need to get the area cleared out - and it's been 8-10 years of me ignoring it!

So far I have 6 big black garbage bags full of plant bits, a stack of rotten wood from planters and little decorative fencing, and a 6 foot palm tree that I knocked over and broke off a foot from the ground.

Intensive garden work is hard, physically, but so rewarding to see all the dead brush cleared out.

I took the trash out and washed a cat blanket. Even managed to get most of the shed fur off of it!

I took out the trash on the way to get breakfast. I walked to get kolaches for breakfast.

I got my disabled parking hang tag on the same day that I got the second piece of paperwork I needed for it.

Placed the order to get "bull horn" style handle extenders for my full size folding wheelchair, because my partner is Very Tall and doesn't appreciate having to lean over to shove me around (affectionate).

Retrieved my glittering decorative washi tape from downstairs, all by myself. (Downstairs Doggo tried to "help" me with the stairs, but no harm befell me.)

Saw the Barbie movie on short notice, because I discovered a severely undersold showing.

Did the majority of the task I'd assigned to my partner, because I thought it would take quite a while and I wanted to leave promptly to see the movie. (It took less time than I thought it might, but it would have probably still taken a while.)
