Posted a long DW post which I'd been working on for a few days.

Actually really going out tonight with the bloke, with toddler being babysat by friends. MUCH WOW.

I was going to say I did a bunch of marking, which is true, but that has been superseded by the fact that I just received my copy of the most recent issue of Speculum (flagship journal of the Medieval Academy of America, name chosen by many old white dudes long ago and recipient of many a feminist take-down, but anyway), containing my first published book review, and, in fact, my first published piece of academic writing! It's terrifying because it's a review of a book by a giant in its field (which is not my field), but exciting too, far more than I had anticipated!
