List as many things as you can to illustrate what a wonderful person you are: personality traits, accomplishments, friends you've made, children you've raised, bad habits you've kicked, adversity you've overcome, anything and everything you can think of to capture the success in your life. Don't hold back!
Try to list at least fifteen things. Then bookmark the comment or entry and, anytime you're having a down day, come back and look at it, for a confidence booster.

Date: 2014-09-24 11:28 am (UTC)(2) I am still alive. I have survived and survived and survived some more, and I am mostly happy and mostly as healthy as I can be, and that's kind of staggering.
(3) I listen well, and I offer solid feedback when asked.
(4) I work to build community - the Grad Talks seminar series I'm trying to set up at work, the LGBT+ libraries I've been involved with or founded, the rep work I do,
(5) I am extremely proud of the work I do to raise visibility of mental illness, and make asking for help okay, even though it's on a more one-on-one/individual level than (4).
(6) I completed my MSci on the second attempt. I got accepted to a PhD programme. I'm alive and I am mostly sane.
(7) Friendpeople <333 Specifics would be long and difficult, but -- I have worked at learning how to people and one way or another I seem to have acquired some. Thank you all. <3
(8) I can still more-or-less sing and more-or-less play the horn.
(9) I have been instrumental in supporting a whole heap of people through comings out various.
(10) I write fanfiction intermittently but well, in ways that bring people joy.
(11) I channel knowledge. I know people to ask, and I have recs for you, whether you're after books or (admittedly my own subgenres of) music or food or perfume.
(12) I am not only kind.
(13) I have two published academic papers as co-author, and I have submitted my poetry/short original fiction to a number of places, in the expectation that it will get rejected, as good practice. (And am about to submit some more!)
(14) I have had difficult and painful conversations with any number of people (including my mother) that have resulted in our better understanding one another, and being better able to be kind to one another; and I am beginning to learn when the best thing I can do is say goodbye.
(15) And really, truly an accomplishment: I can say no.
